Something i wrote about a year back.
just thought it was a good reminder on why i should always be a better brother everyday.
Arranging it in a row.
With steady hands.
Holding our breath.
We lit it up and ran for our lives.“Boom!”
A surge of laughter just exploded within us.
The neighborhood echoes back the explosion from our fireworks
It’s been so long since we played fireworks.“Boom!”
There we went again.
Bursting into laughter.
Simple things i guess.
a small packet containing gunpowder and a fuse.“Boom!”
It lighted up a small portion of the field where we are standing at.
A short brother to brother talk.
about things we wanna do.
things he wanna do.“Boom!”
Little things, we do.
I was always busy my dad tells me.
Busy with things around me, church, people, girls lol.
which he always he reminds me.
“Do life with your little brother..”“Boom!”
From his face, i could see people’s high expectation from him.
“you play drums? like your brother? you do sound? Like your brother?’
In fact, as my dad puts it.
He looks up to me, he wants to be like me.
He is trying.
But God i pray, let him exceed me.
As older brother, i can always say i’m proud of my little brother.
He is growing taller then me.
He is growing stronger in the Lord.
He is the better grade getter in the family.
He writes songs as well.
all at the tender age of 16.“Boom!”
I looked up into the sky and just thank God.
Looking at my brother with his daring act of lighting 5 Fireworks in a row.
We are so different but yet so alike.
We enjoy lame youtube videos together.
We quote phrases from spongebob just to make each other laugh.
We tease each other on so call “Girlfriends”
Calling each other funny names.“Boom! Boom! Crackle..”
The walk home, i just placed my arm over my brother’s shoulder.
in my heart i’m saying a prayer.
“when we gonna finish up the remaining fireworks?”
He asked me.
“Soon..”Infact, moments like these.
I really pray and hope it will never be finish.
cause it’s one of the moments i feel i’m really alive.
Just Being that older brother..
